13.5 Months' Recap
Saturday, May 26, 2007
It’s Saturday night. The apartment is clean, I’m 80% packed, and I’ve practiced my four-minute thirty-second message for tomorrow morning.
Seven things in the U.S. I’m looking forward to
- Air conditioning
- Watching hockey
- Unpacking after moving into my own place
- A fresh reboot to plan out some long-term goals
- Seeing more than ten stars at night (one of the best things about Tsukumi)
- Getting a new pair of speed skates
- Seeing family and friends
Seven things in Japan I’ll miss
- Courteous and helpful customer service
- The convenience of smallness
- Various foods: taiyaki, melonpan, anko (hmm, they’re all sweets…)
- Using money with holes in the middle
- Being immersed in Japanese
- Trains of all varieties
- Friends from English classes and the church
