With April 1 fast approaching, mission.japan has a new host, a new CMS, and a new look. That’s a lot of new stuff.
January is the month of new beginnings, so it is appropriate for the mission.japan site to get a bit of a facelift during this month. TextDrive, a quality web host infused with a superbly geeky culture, is now providing hosting. All of the content is driven by Textpattern, which has been much fun for configuring and tweaking. And last, the entire design has been reworked for enhanced readability and better colors.
Alongside redoing the site I have been continuing to pursue the remainder of my funding for going to Japan. As I write this more than half of the needed funds have been received/promised, but I still need approximately $635 per month if I am to be in Japan for a full two years.
