Print work

Thursday, January 11, 2007

I don’t profess to be a professional designer, or even an amateur one at that. Over the last several months, however, I’ve built a small portfolio of print work for church-related fliers.

The latest flier (and the one that took the most revisions and debate) was the one for the Family Center’s classes. It went gold (what’s the correct phrase for print material?) on Tuesday. Unfortunately it will be distributed in grayscale to keep costs down, but it still looks pretty good.

The other two fliers are for… Well, let’s just paste the thumbnails in here and let you see for yourself.

The program of choice for all of these is Inkscape, which has been exceptional as far as stability and features. If you need vector graphics software, it’s hard to beat free and multi-platform.
